Repeater Infrastructure

An infrastructure repeater is a community-run node intended to provide persistent coverage to the Austin Mesh network. Below is the current list of primary sites, their operational status, and details on each install. Independent Condos

Description
The Independent Condos host 3 solar powered nodes. One of the East Northeast corner, one on the West Southwest corner, and one inbetween them to “bridge” because they can’t directly see each other.

Description
The Spring Condos host one solar powered node with a 6dbi fiberglass antenna that covers much of South Austin including South Lamar, Town Lake, and Zilker Park.

The Univertsity of Texas at Austin Physics, Math, and Astronomy building hosts 2 nodes. This site is home to lots of RF energy, and so it’s node hosts a more powerful radio along with inline RF filtering.

Description
The Wimberley Valley Amateur Radio Club(WVARC) hosts one solar repeater on a hilltop tower in Wimberley. It provides connection all the way to Southwest Austin, and even connects directly with The Independent Southwest node.

Automotive Specialists

Description
The Automotive Specialists repeater(most often referred to as A300) is mounted on top of a 10m garage in Oak Hill. The owner of the business, Leslie, is an extremely friendly man who is supportive of his community and their communication. It was installed in June of 2026.

Hosted on the LASA rooftop and graciously supported by the LASA Amateur Radio Club.
