Start with the exact board revision you own. Even when two radios share a name, screen, connector, antenna, or battery changes can affect the fit.

Outdoor & Solar Enclosures
Outdoor nodes need more than a box. Plan for water, condensation, UV exposure, heat, antenna hardware, cable routing, battery temperature, and access for service.
- Solar node enclosures: Look for designs with a dedicated panel mount, battery space, cable routing, and ventilation or pressure equalization.
- Repeater cases: Favor rigid mounting points and an antenna connector arrangement that does not put mechanical stress on the radio PCB.
- Weather resistance: A printed enclosure is not automatically waterproof. Seals, fasteners, cable glands, gaskets, and drainage all matter.
- Serviceability: Leave room to unplug the battery, reach the USB port, and replace hardware without destroying the enclosure.

Choosing Filament

| ASA | Long-term outdoor enclosures | Good choice where UV and weather exposure are major concerns; use an enclosed printer when appropriate. |
| TPU | Flexible feet, bumpers, gaskets, cable protection | Useful as a flexible component alongside a rigid enclosure. |
Tip: Material choice matters as much as print quality. A beautiful PLA enclosure can still deform in direct summer sun.

Before You Print
- Identify the exact radio and PCB revision.
- Check antenna, USB, screen, button, and battery clearances.
- Read the model description for required screws, inserts, magnets, or other hardware.
- Choose filament based on where the node will live.
- Print a small fit test when tolerances are critical.
- For outdoor deployments, test the completed enclosure for water ingress before installing the electronics.
